Tail is trashed. Will have to be imped. Eyes are perfect, stained neg last night and flushed again this AM. Bird had removed bandage from metacarpals. Wounds are minor and mostly scabbed over. Scrubbed and applied ssd, tega and telfa.

Talons are tipped.

Banded 18116 and moved to R20

Amy Z reported this was the hardest removal from a chimney she has had. Family would like to release back at house. WIll be placing chimney cap on chimney in the am.

Beak: Black soot on beak
Body

Left metacarpal: Wounds on edges of both
Right metacarpal: Wounds on edges of both
Legs
Left foot, ankle, digits: Black with soot and talons are blunted
Right foot, ankle, digits: Black with soot and talons are blunted
Left remiges: Ends are damaged
Right remiges: Ends are damaged
Retrices: All are damaged, several are broken a 2 to 4 inches from body.

Exam:
BDOW ia very alert and bity, fiesty. Wounds on edges of metacarpales. Both feet are covered with soot and talons are very blunted. No fractures palpated, seemed painful when palpated right wing. Beak covered in soot. OU looked good, stained to make sure there was no scratches, NSF. Flushed OU well to make sure no soot was in eyes. Tail feathers are a mess, several are broken inches from body. Radiographs under 2 % ISO via mask, NSF. Cleaned, flushed, and covered wounds on metacarpals with duoderm and tegaderm.

Treatment:
Fluids: 25 ml LRS SQ
Torb: 0.14 ml IM
Meloxicam: 0.07 ml IM

Food: 36 g M c/u
