Was moving to R12b and noticed a large scab over the right MC area. We found that the bird had refractured the major metacarpal and a large portion of bone had punctured the skin. Exposed and unhealthy. Significant scarring. Elected euthanasia.
Anesthetized with iso via mask. Euthanized with 1.0 cc pentobarb IC.

Presented QAR standing in box. Eyes look normal. BCS very low. Physical exam wnl except R wrist. Found hard lump with scab and matted feathers overtop. Felt floppy, probable fx in wrist or carpal bone(s). Radius/ulna feels normal. Did not anesthetize due to low BCS.

Administered Torb 0.1cc IM

Flushed wrist with saline which then exposed two small open wounds on wrist. Bone exposed due to these, but still under the skin. Scrubbed with chlorahex and pulled away scab and matted feathers. Packed with SSD and covered with telfa and tega. Placed figure 8 wrap with gauze wrap then vet wrap.
