Perching. Quiet.
Some tremors that got worse when grabbed.

Noticed that the bird had been chewing on left toe #2. He had plucked it and also caused soft tissue damage. It was very traumatized, oozing, and also had fly eggs. Bandage over TMT fracture was very wet again.

Anesthetized with iso via mask. Removed bandage. Wound looked very unhealthy. Bone darker in coloration. The entire area was wet and smelled necrotic. Prognosis poor - especially due to the self-mutilation - and the neuro symptoms.
Elected euthanasia.
Euthanized with 1.0 cc pentobarb IC.

Torb 0.2 ml IM during ANE

Placed on oxygen the ISO at 1%. Splint is intact but bandage, TMT area and ankle are damp.
Toes mildly swollen but not bad. Temperature is ok. Subtle, maggoty smell. Wound is actually pretty minor. On medial aspect of mid TMT. Tissue is fresh.
Fx is actually stable and aligment is good. I don't believe the fx is complete. Cleaned and flushed. Dried feathers in area with blow dryer. Dressed with SSD + adaptic + telfa + roll cotton + vet wrap with metal side bar and foam shoe.

Standing, quiet.

Neurologic once grabbed. Twitchy at times but also seemed very dazed. Little to no menace present. Pupils very dilated.

Anesthetized with iso via mask. Radiograph showed left TMT fracture. Good alignment. Hard to see well because a side bar was in the view.
Applied a foam shoe.

Due to neuro symptoms, will treat for WNV.

BAR, standing with slight tremors. In good body condition. Dirty, matted wound on medial left TMT. This looks like a leg hold trap injury to me. 0.09 Midazolam IM. 0.20 Torb IM.
Didnt palpate any fractures, even the wound site seemed stable.

Due to birds neuro state, opted to skip rad and do quick wound care under 1.5% iso via mask.

Flushed and scrubbed wound site. Small puncture through the bone, small pockets around the wound. Did not spot any maggots. Applied SSD, duoderm, telfa, and tega. Applied cotton wrap + vet wrap + metal side bars cranially and laterally. Did not place shoe as bird was standing normally.

0.60 cc Enro/CLinda SQ
35 cc LRS SQ
0.09 cc Meloxicam IM
Bronco and placed in KR2 with 33 g m c/u
Bird is already standing.
